CBI has registered two more cases related
to alleged irregularities in the functioning of MNREGA in Uttar Pradesh. According
to the sources, CBI has registered cases for criminal conspiracy, fraud and
forgery under the section of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and misuse of official
post for corruption under the Anti- Corruption Act in two districts of Sant
Kabir Nagar and Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.
Proposal for 150 days of work under MGNREGA
Seeing the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,
UPA government is mulling over increasing the number of working days from 100
to 150 under their ambitious MGNREGA program. Sources said that central cabinet
will discuss a proposal regarding this on Friday.
107 roads halted due to MNREGA in Basti

in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. As the fiscal year is to pass, the possibilities of
construction of these roads are not visible. 52 roads of 31 selected villages
in the overall village development yojana have to be constructed. The total
length of these roads is fifty kilometers.
