Doaba (Kaushambi) workers are hopeful of a huge relief through MNREGA this year because district administration has asked for Rs. 55 crore as labour budget this time from government.
If budget is sanctioned as per the demand then job card holders will not need to go outside. Officers related to MGNREGA have prepared plan to provide employment to 1.57 lakh job card holders of the district. If administration sanctions the prepared plan then district workers will not need to go outside in search of work.
In the last year Rs. 31 crore budget for MNREGA workers was sanctioned for the district due to which employment was not available as per the demand of NREGA job card holders. Hundreds of workers have to go to other districts for search of job. Staff and officers related to MNREGA showed negligence in the last fiscal year because of which right use of NREGA could not be provided to district workers. Out of the sanctioned amount of Rs. 31 crore, only Rs. 26.5 crore was used last year. Rs. 4.5 crore was not used because of departmental negligence and money was refunded back to DRDA Department.
