CBI has registered two more cases related
to alleged irregularities in the functioning of MNREGA in Uttar Pradesh. According
to the sources, CBI has registered cases for criminal conspiracy, fraud and
forgery under the section of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and misuse of official
post for corruption under the Anti- Corruption Act in two districts of Sant
Kabir Nagar and Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the sources the initial
report does not have names of any officer but officers are under investigation
for alleged cases of corruption during 2007-10 NREGA functioning. CBI has asked
district administration and state government to keep MNREGA related documents
of these districts safe. CBI took over the case after orders from the Lucknow
bench of Allahabad High Court which ordered it to investigate in the corruption
involved in the functioning of NREGA project in seven districts of the state. The
court ordered to investigate the functioning from 2007-10 of Balrampur, Gonda, Mahoba,
Sonbhadra, Sant Kabir Nagar, Mirzapur and Kushinagar.
Minimum
daily wages increased to Rs. 157 under MGNREGA in MP

will get minimum daily wages of Rs.157 from April 1. Gopal Bhargavat, Minister
for Co-operative, Social Justice, Panchayat and Rural Development ordered to properly
inform people about the increased wages from April 1. At present the minimum
daily wage is set to be Rs.146. Central government in its circular of 13 February
has set minimum daily wages for states under MGNREA project. CEO of every
District Panchayat have been informed about this amendment and have been asked
to promote and spread this information to district and village panchayats.
