MNREGA providing 100 days of work to only 2 families in Balrampur

MNREGA which provides legal guarantee of at least 100 days of work has failed to achieve its mission. NREGA could not provide 100 days of work to even two families in the Rehra Bazar Vikas Khand in Balrampur. Here only 146 families have got 100 days of work under NREGA. Out of 72 village panchayats in Rehra Vikas Khand, there are 13574 job card holder families including 1623 SC, and 27 ST families. Out of these there are 3804 women whose percentage is 21.56. After spending Rs. 3.93 crore 100 days of employment could be provided to only 146 families from these 72 village panchayats. Great recession has been seen in MNREGA works after implementation of Electronic Fund Management System (EFMS) in the last quarter of fiscal year 2013-14. Vikas Khand which spent Rs. 3.87 crore in the first three quarters could not spend even Rs. 6 lakh in its final quarter. 100 days of employment was provided to 146 families from 29 village panchayats while 100 days of employment was not provided to even single person in 43 village panchayats.
